Thought this would be a fitting time to post this panorama of the Old Course (golf course) at St Andrews, given the Open Championship started there today. This was actually taken a number of weeks ago when we remembered what the sun looked like.

Here's a link to a bigger image. It's about 6 or 7 individual shots combined.

A little bit of fun on our favourite beach...

STOP PRESS: So, I've just been made aware of a guy who's ripping off my photography tutorials and passing them off as his own. A compliment in a way but slightly hacked off given that the only purpose of me writing the articles was to help people. Here are a couple of screen shots of the offending article:

Screen shot 1 and Screen shot 2

I've sent the guy a polite email asking him to remove the article and am hoping that this will be the last time he tries to plagiarise someone.

This is taken at one of my favourite spots in the Trossachs at Loch Ard. There is a little pier that I've taken a few pictures of over the years, but have never noticed the lovely view when you look past the pier at the other side of the water. There was a Heron perched on a rock that you can see at the bottom right of the photo that originally drew my attention to the scene. I was quite annoyed that I didn't have my 400mm lens with me, but like the wide shot nonetheless!

We managed to persuade a pro wedding photographer to take our wedding shots and then hand over the digital images for us to process. Thankfully we were able to get the very talented David Bryce and he did a fantastic job (both on the day through his shooting style and the images themselves). Unfortunately it means I'm going to be spending the next few weeks processing all of the shots!

This is the first shot I processed, probably my favourite full length shot of the day. Taken outside the Balmoral in front of all the tourists passing by and snapping away too!

A well timed gust of wind helped make this a pretty cool shot...

Calton Hill

I have a rare 2 and a half minute window of opportunity to update this blog just now, so thought I'd quickly make the most of it. As I mentioned in my previous post, I got married (!) a couple of weeks ago. It was 20 days from when we decided to bring the wedding forward to when we actually got married, so as you can imagine things have been a little hectic. Oh, and I just got an iPad too so that has been taking up all of my free time!

Anyway, I'm sure there will be much more photos/text to follow about the wedding at some point and in some form or another over the next little while but in the mean time I thought I'd post this one...

On the evening of our wedding we, and most of the other guests, took a stroll up to one of our favourite spots in Edinburgh... Calton Hill. And no, I didn't take this shot that night! I wasn't allowed to take any pictures (and to be fair, didn't want to)... instead this shot was taken last Friday on our 6 day anniversary. We went back up and had a couple of beers as we watched the sun go down on what will probably be one of the nicest days (weather wise) of the year.

Happy days.

I've wanted a shot of the Bank of Scotland headquarters on The Mound for quite a while now, so it's quite funny that this shot was taken fairly quickly as I was crossing the road...
